[GUIDE] Kakewalking Lion OSX
With this guide I’ve managed to run a clean install of Lion onto a new Hackintosh build. No Snow Leopard and no optical media required. The original guide can be found at TonyMacX86 forums. I’ve added some info here & there & keeping it here for my own backup (in case something went very wrong in the future)

First of all;
My Newly Build Rig:
CPU: Intel Core i7 2600K
Mobo: Gigabyte Z68X-UD4-B3 (Bios F7)
GPU: Gigabyte HD 6870 OC
RAM: 8Gb Kingston DDR3 (= CL9, CL8 RAM is better) (for this install, please only insert 4Gb RAM, you can add more after the install)
PSU: Corsair TXV2 650W
SSD: OCZ Vertex 3 120Gb (for install purpose I only attached this SSD, no other SSD/HDD attached)
CASE: Fractal Design Define XL Black Pearl
What you need to complete this guide succesfully;
* More or less the same specs as me…
* Empty USB stick – I used one of 8Gb (doesn’t need to be preformatted to HFS+, but it’s never useless to do so)
* Working Mac (from you/friend – used for kakewalking & to download Lion via the AppStore on your AppleID)
* Kakewalk ~ You’ll find that here…
* MultiBeast 3.8 ~ you’ll need to register for that one @ TonyMacx86
* Your Mobo’s DSDT ~ make sure you’ll have this first, you can find DSDTs also @ TonyMacx86
* Patience young padawan! If at first you don’t succeed, try again… This was my 16th attempt at Hackintoshing… 
*skipped the fluff of the original guide ~ basicly saying how stupid it was to first install SnowLeopard to get to Lion*
Do you have a similar build – read on! I don’t know how other mobo’s will react on the kexts that will be used later on in this guide, so if you’re using anything else than my specs – proceed at your own risk… Other Gigabyte Z68X Mobo’s should be fine though…

Find & Replace (Adobe Acrobat Pro)

“no. Acrobat is not a word processing program. Go back to the source doc and change it there”
Uhh, what if one does not have the original source doc?? Or, as in my case, the documents are ONLY available in PDF format.
Pat, if you have Acrobat 8 you can do what you want as far as changing all occurances of the company name. I just did this on a long document I had using the new “Redaction” feature. You start by doing a Search for the word you want to change, i.e. the company name. The Search box will list all occurances of the name. At the top of the search box select “check all”, and at the bottom check “Mark Checked Results For Redaction”.
In the Redaction properties/Appearance check the “Use Overlay text” box. Below that select “custom text” and enter in the new company name. You can then select “Apply Redactions” and bingo! All the company names are changed in the document to the new name.
But – it gets the job done…
By now we’re using Adobe Acrobat Pro X; so some things have changed a little…

Rock Werchter 2011
** Facts **
Het gaat er al lang niet meer om of de lineup goed of slecht is, maar we zien wel een tendens die zich steeds harder manifesteert ~ we gaan gewoon 5 dagen lang naar StuBru zitten luisteren & of dat nu goed of slecht is, laat ik volledig aan uw verbeelding over…
40kg chemisch ijs ~ de hoeveelheid ijs waarmee we dit jaar gaan proberen rond te komen, vorig jaar was dat nog 25kg en zaten we erdoor op dag 3.
+/- 10 tentjes ~ het aantal tentjes dat we op voorhand moeten meesleuren voor volkdatlaterkomt - het volkdatlaterkomt is ook een heel vaag gegeven, waarvan we niet met 100% zekerheid kunnen zeggen wie het allemaal is.
2 partytentjes ~ ons afdak voor het wisselvallige weer in Werchter & in alle waarschijnlijkheid veels te klein voor al dat volkdatlaterkomt mee onder te kunnen zetten… hopelijk alleen maar nodig tegen de zon…
Een niet nader omschreven hoeveelheid drank, in alle geuren/kleuren & smaken… naar goede gewoonte ook altijd veel te veel…
Voor de komende 5 dagen kan u mij daar aantreffen, hoogstwaarschijnlijk zoals op bovenstaande afbeelding, nog waarschijnlijker met twee pintjes (in elk hand) & nog vanzelfsprekender een klapke aant doen met u of een andere onbekende…
Dragon Age 2 – Armor Shizzle
Lang heb ik me er toch van kunnen weghouden – blijkbaar niet lang genoeg. Ik had namelijk niets dan slechte kritiek gelezen & gehoord over Dragon Age 2. Het zou bijna een ware schande zijn, tegenover z’n voorganger. Maar toch – waren er ook wel positieve reacties – zoals bv m’ne maat die er totaal van in de wolken was & ik dan ook danig de grond in stampte met te zeggen; “ik speel dat niet want lees nix dan slechte commentaar over dat spel.”
Oh boy was I wrong…
Heb ondertussen dus ook m’n oprechte verontschuldigingen aangeboden @ m’ne maat – had hem eigenlijk gewoon van in’t begin moeten geloven.
Anywayz – ik kan er ook wel een beetje inkomen dat niet iedereen zo happy is met de opvolger van Dragon Age Origins. Er zitten zo een paar kritieke pijnpunten in het spel wat maakt dat het spel eigenlijk redelijk veel op voorhand al gekozen heeft voor jou. En wat me eigenlijk nog het meeste stoort is het feit dat je geen armor kan toekennen aan je companions. Hoe enorm belachelijk is dat niet?
Praktisch 80% van alle loot die ik vind, is voor te verkopen omdat ik er zelf niets mee kan aanvangen – ik ben een Rogue/Assassin & dan ben ik dus niets met een gigantische Armor gemaakt voor Warriors. Maar zoals praktisch altijd tegenwoordig, komt de community to the rescue!
Vanavond installeer ik me deze patch (DA2 Equip Your Party v3) & dan zal ik nog eens goed nadenken of ik misschien opnieuw start of niet. Uiteindelijk ben ik nog maar lvl 9 momenteel dus dat is snel terug ingehaald.
Die patch maakt het simpelweg mogelijk om je companions volledig zelf te customizen qua armor – SCHITTEREND dus.
Of zoals er in de bijlage vd patch te lezen valt;
“The way it was meant to be!”
