When I feel heavy metal
It’s been a week since my last post about “analog photography” now and I’ve got a few updates for you…
I’ve went to see my grandma as she told she still had some ancient cameras on her attic… Marvellous!
So I returned with some real treasures (imo that is)…
For starters – a Gevabox (from 1951) – I’ve got not a single clue as to how I’m supposed to focus with this thing, I think it’s just “hoping” that you’re right about the distance – et voila! push that button… Funky!
Next – a Kodak Retina (which I think’s from the first series, which makes from around 1934-36) – I like the folding a lot, this evening I’m going to find some 35mm rollfilm for it… b/w that is!
Then a camera which I don’t know the name or model of, I think it’s something from Kodak, but there’s no reference/modelnr to be find… Same as the Gevabox, it’s 120mm rollfilm…
And somewhat newer model of Olympus, still got to find out which series though… Along with a Telelens, Macrolens and standard 55mm lens…
Furthermore I got my hands on a “bargain”; 30€ for 3 minolta lenses, a minolta SRT-101b-body, various filters and other stuff, more important a remote-control-cable or whatever you like to call it… WooT!
Along with my SRT-100x that makes a great starter-set if you ask me…
If everything goes as planned, I’ll be making b/w-pix this weekend… Watch me shoot! 
PS: All I want for x-mas now is a Minolta Fisheye 16mm lens… or for my birthday, or for easter, or for……. Or I’ll just get it myself as soon as I see one popup on the net (for a reasonable price that is)…
Analoog – het heeft iets…
Ooit in een ver verleden had ik ne maat die verzot was op oude fototoestellen, ik kon dat toen een beetje vatten maar toch niet echt helemaal… Ik had zoiets van jah schoon, maar whatever…
Nu heb ik dit weekend bij m’n grootouders nogmaals zo’n oud toestel in m’n handen gehad, een Minolta uit de jaren ’60. En dat straalde zoiets uit van, authenticiteit, iets van waauw… Het had toen indertijd toch wel minstens 24.000 Bef gekost – wat naar mijn inziens betrekkelijk veel was voor die tijd…
Is zoiets nu meer/minder waard – I’ve got no clue… Bijna kreeg’k het mee naar huis – misschien de volgende keer… Nu heb ik wel het filmrolletje meegekregen, er stonden nog 15 “vrije plaatskes” op die ik gretig heb opgebruikt op de avond zelf… Vanavond ga’k dat filmrolletje eens binnengooien bij de fotograaf… En wie weet wakkert dat m’n analoog idee nog wat meer aan…
Hou ook van dat hele reflexgebeuren hé, schitterend iets dat bij m’n digitale fototoestellen toch wel een groot gemis is, OF je moet naar de duurdere prijsklasse gaan natuurlijk… Ik hou eigenlijk gewoon van dat “Tsjakkaa”-geluidje dat zo’n toestel maakt… Lovin’ it!… “Tsjakkaa!!”
M’n ouders hebben ook nog zo’n toestel liggen – jaren ’70 en met grotere lens, daar mag’k me alvast eens mee amuseren. Inclu bijhorende opzet-flits & staanderke, moet enkel nog een batterij vinden voor’t diafragma-meterke… Vanavond dus oud filmrolleke binnen en een nieuw aanschaffen… Ben benieuwd…
Heeft er iemand ook enig idee wat zo’n filmrolleke ontwikkelen (enkel op cdrom dan) kost?
