Google’s taking over the world?
By now everyone should know that Google seems to take over the world… hmm in fact I should rephrase that one; Google has taken over the world in case you didn’t noticed…
Simple example; www.google.com // one of the top-rated search-engines ever made?
Second; since 2005 we’ve got Gmail.com — a massive concurrent for hotmail.com or yahoo.com, offering me now +/- 2749 MB of space for my mails, compared to hotmail(250 MB) and yahoo(who started out at 4MB then upgraded to 100MB, then to another 250MB, after Gmail popped up increased it to 1GB)
Third; since some time now we’ve got the organizer known as GoogleCalendar - with only one simple login - the Gmail-login…
Fourth; Googlegroups - a massive forumlike database of users asking and answering ANY kind of questions asked, etc etc… also usefull if ur lookin for cracks and hacks // so really anything you need…
Fifth; They own superb software-packages like – Picasa a nice way to search, edit and share all of your pictures on ur pc… Or Blogger.com, also owned by Google.com is one of the most popular services on the web for blogging for free; also know as ***.blogspot.com – Google’s also got one of those…
Sixth; This one’s nifty! Check Google Maps… Even niftier is Google Earth, download it here! Talking about taking over the world, they’re watching us… All the time!!
Seventh; Video Google; making great contestants for sites like Youtube.com and Ifilm.com, probably a lot more but hey……
Eigth; And if you’re into Gmail, you’ll probably already have this… Gtalk – instant messaging system for Gmail-users… Much like MSN for Hotmail-users, only slightly less-childish-systemabsorbing-etc etc… You can also make free internet calls with it, just like Skype… Don’t know which one’s best for doing so…
Ninht; Froogle.com; that’s meant for shopping on the net, never used it but seems interesting…
Tenth; Last but not least, Adwords, advertising on like really anything, this is were they get most of their income and profits, free ads on ppls sites… they only pay out after you’ve received a certain quota, most of the users(bloggers to be precise) won’t even reach that quota after 1 year presenting ads on their site, I know I didn’t… And with Google Analytics you can make Adwords work even better…
And there’s still much more, but I think I’ve picked out the most important ones, MOST of them are still in BETA-phase, for example the Google Translator is a nice initiative only it doesn’t work with most of the sites out there… Almost forgot GoogleNews… which is obviously concerning news (Search and browse 4,500 news sources updated continuously)… btw, they also support Belgium…
kewl…
